will tell you a secret. André was not very good at computers. That was great
for me, because he loved computers and he also loved to admit, that he did not
understand anything about them. So for Andre and me it was a good reason to
talk over the phone for years, every day and for many hours. He loved not to
understand anything and I loved to explain to him what he did not want to unterstand.
But computers were not the point. The point was his love of life, his jokes
even in the worst times. The last time I talked to him, again over the phone
to the States, he told me to get ready for the big party. He meant Sylvester.
He then admitted, that he suffered terribly. No, he never talked about his pains.
He suffered from the bad American food. So he made plans for Sylvester. He talked
about what he would traditionally cook, and you all know what he meant. I do
not want to mention here, which political implications he mentioned, when talking
about the festive dinner at the great party on Sylvester and what should be
done with the leftovers to solve the Middle East conflict.
